It's one of the main reasons I no longer bother with EQ pvp servers, same old story anywhere you go.

Yeah it got pretty frustrating trying to play it legit tbh. Two particular instances where people weren't even trying to pretend they weren't hacking stuck out in particular. First one when I zoned into unrest with a group and while waiting near the zoneline to start pulls a member of my group tells us theres 2 named mobs up in zone right now. Then we go around in the yard and he magically targets the named mob sitting in the tower way out of los. Later when my group wiped in loio in a somewhat nasty spot because of a zonecrash the same groupmate blatantly speedhacks (I guess he probably just didn't care that I could obviously see him doing it) in order to grab his corpse while I'm carefully moving through the area lulling things to make my way to get my/other corpses.

Then when my group of darkies had a really solid leveling spot, hit mid 30s very quickly and all had our anon tags up the whole time ofc. When I went back to a more populated zone I start getting tells from people I've never talked to before on both teams asking me how I got to 34 so fast. When I ask how they know my level they're suddenly playing dumb like "oh my buddy told me, I totally have no idea how he knows"

I guess it's just par for the course on eq pvp servers and like naez said if I want to play on the server I should probably just hack too, but that totally kills the fun of it for me.

Anyway /rant off, gl to everyone still playing on there and I've got to give it to Tarwine cause he did really make a very cool world for what it is. Just a shame about the limitations of the software making hacking so easy.
