Prove this. I was just told by a GM 3 weeks ago that someone can keep the camp as long as they are at the camp by the time the next PH spawns. I legitimately asked the GM if the guy can log on to his next alt and bring it before the next PH pops and he said that is totally legal. So from what I was told by the GM you can hold a camp forever without being in front of said camp.

Sounds like you need to give the p99 guidebook another read. It's stated in bold right on the page. I'll quote that specific section for you.

Let this be a lesson: though never camp and come right back, no matter how noble your time away was. Instead, you simply "went ld".

Disrespectfully submitted.

I always find it so funny how unwilling both sides always are to compromise in these situations. Literally every time its either "you get fucked" or "I get fucked"

Its how the p99 badlands operate, wasteland rules!

But seriously I usually have no problem doing a fair compromise but sometimes you get a fedora mafia who won’t practice basic social skills.

Conclusion:
-OP was kinda rude but was following the rules. Camp was open if the other dude logged.
-Other Dude seemed like he was probably genuinely trying to help a friend with an xfer, and figured it would be nbd as long as he returned before his mob spawned. He was wrong though since as soon as he logged out he forfeit the camp.

Tldr: you cant log out and expect to hold a camp. No matter what.

You both handled this like spoiled children and should be ashamed of yourselves. I assume you’re both adults, at least legally in terms of age. One of you tattles to the gms and the other to the forums. Embarrassing.

Wow, I feel like this thread got away from me.

I clearly stated I was trolling this guy...I did not touch the mob when it spawned. I think people who think they have a right to something because they log off or leave, are pretty ridiculous. Again, his reactions made me want to post this here.

dude needs to know the rule, and come back humble hoping to continue the camp, not act like he deserves it. as long as you log off LD/camp whatever reason, camp is open.
