As much as some people want red shut down, it still has potential and is a good alternative to ChlostrophobiaQuest on blue server where everything is camped.

Red isn't a ghost town, get in with Thunderdome and you'll make friends. Haven't seen a fungi twink in ages in CB/MM/anywhere else.

If you want PvP play a real PvP game (EVE Online is one of several that come to mind.) EQ PvP was always the foulest of faint yet foul smelling crap. At its best it barely came within bloodhound sniffing distance of the stale months-old nigh-odorless dessicated poop of a real pvp game (Fansy told a good yarn, but c'mon people he was trolling the living bejesus out of the srspvpers...)

That said, I've a couple e-friends that insist red is the good stuff. I suspect they've killed off a few too many neurons huffing hairspray or whatever, but I can't bring myself to revisit EQ PvP to prove them wrong directly.

I have a barbarian shaman I occasionally play. The philosophy is to only use Halas/Everfrost/Permafrost.

Everfrost is fairly populated, but it is pretty rare to see much low/mid level activity in Permafrost. Good fun when it happens though!
