Well... It seems as though people just love trolling new players in OOC and on the forums.

I don't think there are many 'Guides' on pvp for everquest. Most of what I've learned is from just playing the game and socializing/playing with PvPers. Just gotta get in there, get down and dirty, and play with good people and you will learn a lot.

If you are new to EQ and are serious, I recommend starting on a farm class first. Necro. shaman, or chanter are good picks. Not only are they way less gear dependent than a Melee, they can make you money which you really need.

EQ is a fucking dinosaur. Why the hell would anyone pick it up if they're interested in pvp, besides nostalgia? There's craptons of archaic and dated systems that make the learning curve huge, especially by a WoWer's standards. To say nothing of how shitty pvp in EQ is by pretty much any definable metric (imba as hell, super gear dependent, very infrequent, huge pve sink to get to pvp, world size/travel woes, exploits and tricks galore, etc)

I mean I get it for people who played in 1999, but even then nostalgia has to win out over an absurdly clunky and supremely unforgiving game. Going from a new mmo to EQ is like getting out of a sports car and into a 30yo pickup truck.

I can't see how that'd be fun for anyone. Even bluebies are clueless to the intricacies of EQ pvp, let alone a WoWer or something.

If you want an actual strat though, it's the pvp universal truth: positioning is everything. Moreso in EQ even.

Knowing when to cast and when & where to move is the foundation of everything. Learn that well and the rest will fall into place.

New MMO's are terrible. The game's almost plays themselves for you in a sense. EQ is dope because its so hard.

I'm as anti-racist as anyone on this server. But like classic literature, this post must be preserved as a part of history, despite any bad feelings it might bring up. It is the greatest thing ever typed on the Internet.

people take very low risks here because noone likes a 2 hour CR, or a bad KDR ratio

the casual players don't have time for the first thing, and the hardcores really want to avoid the latter

at least everyone gets discouraged equally right

Practice, pumices, potions and a resist set. Find someone who plays the same class as you and ask questions.
