When I worked from home mage worked best.

- Break a blue-con fast repop camp.
- Stand in the camp AFK in aggro range.
- Repops owned by pet.
- Come back 7 hours later.
- Sweet, 2 levels done.
That flies on live, used to see people deep in the Hole doing that. Do people get away with it here?

If a mob aggros me during an AFK then that's the NPC's fault not mine. Other than that, not much devs can do to prevent an AFK unless they re-code the server to allow for AFK-tagged PC's to not become aggroable tbh. And I can't see Rogean banning AFKS.

Anyway, I dont even have a mage now and this was a very long time ago.

Interesting, so I could just FD my necro at a camp and let the pet kill all the pops and repops? I thought those kinds of practices (along with botting) were forbidden.

As far as I knew, this isn't allowed. I've seen GM's come out and boot AFK mages lvling on good camps. But I would guess it only happens if someone comes along who wants the camp and finds the mage and then /petitions. If your on a camp that isn't popular then you can probably get away with it.

If you can be a dark elf, make a dark elf (or other race that can hide)... hide is handy for those afk moments (can check its "on" by conning a living mob that isn't usually indifferent to you)

I play at work and have been leveling a necro. I randomly have assholes coming up to my cube to ask me questions.

Thankfully I have dual monitors, and have my second monitor set up so people walking by my cube can't see it unless they walk into my cube. I then have my equipment set up where I have a KVM switch which toggles control between my work PC and my laptop (which is hidden under my desk) and my aforementioned monitor. That way my mouse+keyboard+second monitor are controlling my laptop, and hitting the button on the KVM changes my mouse+keyboard+second monitor to my work desktop.

So I play off an on all day at work, if anyone comes to talk to me in my cube I hit the mouse 4 button which is bound to feign death, and then under my desk my knee hits the button on my KVM switch which switches my second monitor to my work desktop. It's flawless and nobody is none the wiser. I do a lot of AFK camps to level.

Long story short, try a necro.

Getting paid to play eq sounds pretty rewarding to me. Some of you sound a little jealous! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Nah just find it funny that people complain about evil corporations and how they offshore etc.

Who wouldn't offshore this guy's job?
