Keep. I want to savor my pally experience. Being that I have no inclination to raid on this server, I'm in no hurry to rush up to 60 with my hybrid toons.

It's really not that bad to level with the penalty in place. A bunch of us have done it; you can too!

I voted to remove it now.

The original devs of EQ said it was a mistake from the outset and they wish they never did it.

The reason why we all play P99 is because of changes made on Live that took away the luster of the game. There was something that was just "right" about original EQ that we all remember fondly.

The removal of the hybrid penalty was not one of those changes that took away that luster.

Like someone earlier said, grouping is much less common on P99 than it was on Live. I also don't remember my Live server being overpopulated with Shammies/Necros/Enchanters/Monks (okay maybe Necros) and underpopulated with hybrids. If anything it was the opposite.

I don't remember people being so angry back on live when it came to rule lawyering - maybe we should alter the brain patterns of the P99 community who aren't behaving in the classic way.

There's some things that no programming code can fix.

Well I can tell you I would have never made my Iksar SK in 2000 if I knew about the penalty. It was life in the slow lane for sure. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] So yeah it was, and still is, stupid to have it. Now I can understand say 28% of it for the regen part. But the 40%, that blows. The regen DOES make the class more powerful.
