The whole survival thing is serious business for some people these days. The world is going to shit and if there was some kind of collapse eventually, it's probably a good idea to have some kind of backup plan, even if it's just extra food/water and something to defend yourself with. But of course, if you feel that way you get told to take off the tinfoil hat or get called a redneck. Those people would be first to die imo. I keep an open mind without being crazy about it.

The world is hardly going to shit.
The most threatening part of the whole idea is the amount of people with guns who are just waiting to use them for their own self interest instead of working together, or dying with a shred of dignity and integrity. Just got to truck it across the bay to my moms/dads house. I grew up in the south in the woods.
Plenty of bullets, plenty to shoot, fish, and grow. For now i'm living the city life and loving it.

don't Mormons require themselves to stock 6 months of food? They're hardly rednecks.
Regardless of any future blackout, it doesn't hurt to have at least a few weeks of food/water/(essential)meds stored up incase of natural disaster. I would say it's irresponsible to not do so if you have kids. A means of self defense also isn't a bad idea if/when a natural disaster strikes and people turn to looting(this happens). | ||
