This reminds me of when I was in a super market, some mom just walked away from her toddler without checking if the kid saw where she was going.

With mother out of sight baby gets very distressed so I told her just to wait where she is and her mother would come back. Of course I wait with the little girl to make sure she doesn't wander off nor anything sinister happens.

Eventually her mother storms back, shouting at the poor little thing "Whachyoo fink yoo dooheen wahlkin orf lyke dat!?"

Turns to me, "Ehn wot are yoo dooheen wid mah lil gurl! An' who elses kid is dis, yoo sicko!"

I'm just like "yeah, this boy is actually mine and you'll notice I don't go walking off without him and then blame him for being the careless one. Go finish your shopping and keep your eyes on your kid".


What is wrong with people?!

was buying groceries the other day and lady in lane next to me is not paying any attention and her little one walked out the door lookin for her... I kindly told her and she darted out and got him...

in Japan some show(think it was american japanese news) was saying that kid's right of passage is to walk/ride subways/navigate city to get to school by themselves when they are kindergarden or 1st grade age... I'm sure someone with more knowledge could elaborate.
