Well I still haven't figure out how to get Norton 360 to stop deleting that winsock file :/. I put it on the exempt list but it still removes it when I unzip the file. Anyone have any ideas? I prefer not to run with my anti-virus shut off.

Not a good idea because many ISP's share their addresses around and you get a new one when the DSL line resets.

I do think the punishment was a bit lenient though.
Giving them a title of "the cheater" would be cute.

I am having the same problem that George Smith is having. My Nortons is keeping me from having that dll file on my computer. Says its a trojan virus. Makes me nervous seeing it pop up as a virus.

Also, I think they should have stripped them and set them to 1. The power gamers they are they would still all be 60 in a month or so prolly.

How about some GM events where prenerf guise of deceivers and manastones drop for the cheaters get back?

i thought IP exemptions were just a flag to the account, making it so there is no conflict if that account and another access through the same IP.

perma ban is the only way they will learn, even if 75% of them were from TR.

And I'm still not playing. I went from being all "yay" about the fact that cheaters were being suspended to being all "oh" when it came to me not being able to play because there is a Norton bona fide "Trojan Horse" in the latest patch.

Whatever dude. For those of us who work for a living and use our computers for more than game playing anytime ANY legitimate virus software calls something queer we have to pause no matter the circumstance.

Any code that changes the behavior of an .exe can be flagged by AV as a positive hit...

Nothing for me to gain by telling you the file is OK. You can bet your bottom dollar people have decompiled the .dll to examine the source code.

I wouldn't ever call Norton a legitimate antivirus software. Norton blocks fresh out of the box programs from me all the time on my work computer and still lets viruses rape that system. Nearly every other Antivirus out there is better than Norton, even half the free ones.

Stop playing if you're scared of a Norton alert, or scan the files with any other legitimate antivirus and nothing will come up, and be happy that the mods are doing their jobs and catching those who cheat.

Also, I apologize for being foul. I just had to repair 12 computers that were "protected by norton" that were filled with spyware and adware and more than a few keyloggers. It's been a frustrating day.
