Also, I'm pretty sure there are level caps on damage output at low levels. I'm not 100% about it on this server but there is such a thing at capped damage output at certain levels.
I'm level 22 and I'm still seeing the same thing. I'm 100% positive my cap is NOT 16 damage at this point.

Technically 1 point of strength adds to Attack, so yes, I would say my 126 strength should be making an impact on my overall melee damage...but it rarely does
Have you tried parsing any of this?

Also is your weapon skill maxed for whatever weapon you are testing this with?

For the purpose a proper test I would limit myself to a 2-handed weapon (if you are a duel wielding class) just to make it easier to see exactly what's happening without the offhand getting in the way.

If you can get a good haste that will also help produce the numbers you need to look at more quickly.

Out of curiosity what is the strength range you were testing with? You mention 126 being your current STR but what is the minimum/maximum strength you are testing with? You should at least try to get a 50 strength difference and see if you notice a difference.

If your str range is only differing like 5-15 points then the range probably isn't good enough to see past the R.N.G. hit range.

Strength doesn't affect max damage iirc. It affects how often you hit max damage though. Once you hit 30, your weapons start seeing an increase in max damage due to the DMG bonus being applied.

atr will increase your atk, which helps battle the mobs AC. higher atk vs their AC and you will land more hits and for max dmg more often. not much will increase your max dmg of your hits except for higher dmg weapon or crazy amounts of str, like over 200 you *might* see a few more dmg but it wont be much.

slower weapons also get dmg bonus increase as your increase in lvl. slower the weapon the larger the dmg bonus.

You always have the same max damage with a weapon based on your class's damage tables + level. Every class using the same weapon will hit for the same max hit, always. ALWAYS.

Str increases attack, which increases your chance to hit for max. It doesn't increase the hit.

As far as damage bonus goes, the delay bonus only applies to 2 handers. 1 handers always have a level-dependant damage bonus.

False. At 150ish STR my max hit is around 47 damage. With 255 STR my max hit increases to around 53. This is at lvl 50, on a bard, with Maestro/Inny weapons.

any logs/etc to show this increase in actual hits? I played a rogue to 75 on live, I know melee up and down, if this is in, it probably shouldn't be..

No logs.. but..
http://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/eq:Stats
Str -- Strength provides a small bonus to attack and max hit, and also effects how fast certain skills are learned

And from Casters Realm:
http://web.archive.org/web/200012170...uides/Bard.asp
Strength: Strength determines how much you can carry. It influences maximum and average damage and how quickly you learn many offensive skills. Bards wear plate armour, which can weigh large amounts at upper levels. Also they have a semi-melee role, which means they will get more damage done with their weaponry with higher strength. Whilst a number of their songs do increase this stat, it is one which should also get a boost at creation.
