What name did you petition? What level was the player?

I am loathe to post this because there are several asshats out there who will take advantage of this and try to twist things.

Here is the deal:

if someone is a level 1 named JonLucPicard then we will probably change that characters name. If the character manages to make it to level 10 or 15 then we are going to let it go. Is it a copywrited name? yes. But i'm not going to fuck up my trade logs for such a minor issue.

If the name is really inappropriate or has foul language in it then we will change it regardless of the level and it is always up to the guides discretion.

The problem is that people frequently petition about a name that they think is bad that is just making them have seizures of upset-ness daily that doesn't really warrant a name change.

I wouldn't change Xantille on red because Who cares if there is a character named Sir Xantille. Engelbert aka muffins threw major fits about that one and had all of his buddies petition about it.

I DID change Handpartytowel because of what it is. i mean...if you don't know what a Handparty towel is then i recommend you familliarize yourself with urbandictionary.com .

Here is a short list of names that you could argue are against naming policy but i'm not going to change them because they aren't severe enough for me to fuck up my trade logs:

hasbinbad
Portsche

If you act entitled or demanding or act like someone named 'bigbird' needs to have their name changed OR ELSE!!!!!1111!!1!!!1! then i don't blame him for the attitude.

If you have a legitimate problem with him please feel free to message me with ss's or logs or w/e and i'll try to resolve it.

but i suspect it might just be people trying to force ambrotos to change a level 50 character's name

Also, I had a rogue named Penetrated that got renamed at 30 lol.

Seems like anything and everything is fair game depending on how a guide/gm feels at the time.

I was not confused before opening this thread now after reading it all, I am very confused.

The rules are very flexible and some people can get away with stuff but I don't know why or when... oh well, as long as Scavrefamn isn't against the rules so that's all that matters.

I believe the problem is not that the name is offensive or that Portsche gives a damn about the copyrighted names. The problem is that if you have /trackplayers on, Gorenaire shows up white as a PC, also Gorenaire the dragon would be white (even con to a 60).
The whole purpose of creating Gorenaire was to put him in DL to troll TMO. Obviously I'm smart enough to tell the difference when I'm tracking, and I know how to type "/tra off", but the name should be changed due to the malicious intent of the character.
