The key here should be whether you like yourself. Because only if you have no respect for yourself, would you be willing to take advantage of someone else's misfortune.

Give it back. I have done this myself and had someone run by and pick it up. I asked if they had seen it and thankfully it was returned, (100% reduction bag). I gave him 100pp for doing it because I was glad to have it back.

Because 100pp is clearly as good as 5000pp.

Here's the general rule: if you have much more than them, give stuff away. If they have much more than you (is a Wurmslayer like the awesomest item you've ever gotten?) then you're probably in the trenches when it comes to wealth and the economy and you should fight for every scrap you can get until you have enough to be comfortable.
