I played a Level 50 Skald on the PvP server (mordred). I have been wanting to try out this server for awhile, count me in. Installing now.

Cool! Me and the healer will be making our characters in about 15 minutes, I will post our in-game names here shortly. I highly suggest we all start together as a group, it'll be much more fun and fast progression overall!

Hacking isn't easy enough for script kiddies to run shit on DAOC, so don't expect many of them to cross over.

We're going for a Dwarf exclusive group! Just letting you guys know, if you're making a char, try to make it a dwarf or kobold!

Me and the healer are nearly lvl 4 now, our names are Varrius (me) and the healer (Vorhal). We've stopped progress until tomorrow. I highly suggest you guys do every noob quest you can find, its easy XP and decent items, fastest trek to level 5 to get your class promotion!

RvR isnt my thing.... just turns into a pretty big zergfest.
Unlike EQ pvp where you fight small groups over spawns etc, in DAOC you are fighting zergs over keeps in designated pvp areas.

Again, not my thing.

This is completely false. I Played daoc for 7+ years, and there has ALWAYS been an 8v8 community. DAoC basically has three types of players. The solo type player who is always choosing to 1v1 on a stealth class (nightshade, infiltrator, shadowblade, etc), the zerg-type player who doesn't know alot about the game and is more casual, and then you have the group v group type player who knows alot about the mechanics of the game, and is more of a serious player. That's what made daoc so good. There was a community within the game itself for every type of player.. everything wasn't just "let's go zerg this keep with 80+ albions". If you believe this then you really didn't play the game.

There is very little zerging on Uthgard, and it only happens once in a while, not every single day. Most of the time its group vs group or small group skirmishes, which makes it really fun as it becomes more about skill than who spams what faster.

Our group started up last night, we're just lvls 4-5 now, and our allies (around 10 players) are in mid-teen levels. If anyone wishes to try DAOC and likes to PvP along with skilled players, now is the time to give it a go!

Let us know here or on IRC if you would be interested. Even if we are slightly ahead in level, we'll do what we can to help you group and catch up to the main crew.

Cya in game!
