My problem with these people is that they're resellers and make a conscious effort to hoard items and drive up prices. The same retards you see trying to sell Idols of the Thorned for 15k are buying them from nonhoarders for 12k the instant they find one for sale from a nonhoarder. And it comes down to how patient you are and how much time you are willing to devote to save 2k or 3k or 5k or whatever. It took me over a week (checking EC for a few hours each day) to find an Idol of the Thorned for less than 15k (got it from a guildie for 12) but I guess I was lucky because I wasn't in a hurry to get it; normally I'd just pay the 15k. I happen to know several people who have begrudgingly paid 15k for this item not because they agree with the price but because there was no one else selling them.

If you have a problem with these resellers marking you up 20-30%, boycott them. Unfortunately, there will always be enough people willing to take a sour deal and screw over everyone else.
