Is Primal weapons being unattainable really true classic?

The only reason I even thought about it is because I was reading the melee forums and people just suggesting get a primal as a one solution fixes all, and then I realized oh wait. This is the meta, but it's not even achievable for a large % of the player base, and then I thought about how silly it is that sleeper being awakened permanently on live servers was no big deal because the timeline rapidly evolved to Luclin and PoP and then on.... P99 it's just like huh? what?

Like I seriously don't care, and wouldn't play a melee. I would prob get perma banned from the game if I played this role. I played an SK and literally quit the game for 1 year at level 30 because I was constantly OOM since I was the puller and tank, and it turns out DPS too, but then half the mobs I pull I'm literally solo'ing because my group is AFK etc. Like melee is just a really crappy role. Can't solo. Has to work 10 times harder in groups. Needs way more $ for gear but again can't solo.

I don't know why anyone plays these classes in 2024 [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]~ but at the same time it's like oh, primal weapons that were the OG welfare loot that everyone and they grandmother's twink had are these ultra rare and elite items that only a select few get and it's like... nah it wasn't like that on my server at all lmao. They were the welfare loot, literally.

I think the sleeper being awoken permanently only made sense in a world where you're selling a new expac in a couple of months. Not in a world where you're stuck in this content for the next 100k years. But honestly I would be more inclined to remove them from existence altogether than to respawn the sleeper. Just not a fun or balanced item. Always remember there's a reason why there's no manastones on TLPs despite the fact that they would make a lot of money for Darkpaw Games.

To elaborate on this since I lost my chain of thought. When I was playing my SK I was at fireplace in Unrest. I had the dude in hag tower literally levitating over to place where the hand spawns and killing it and all the mobs over there, regularly coming down to bar and killing barkeep. Then I had MR stealing our mobs too. I started getting really irritated because I'm the puller who is having to deal with this while my group is AFK half the time and twiddling their thumbs, only showing up to ask me why I'm not pulling any mobs rather than actually helping. And then a GM randomly shows up and accuses me of KS'ing because I decided that if Hag Tower is going to steal my mobs that I'm going to start pulling Hags. Literally.

Like you have to be a special level of dumb to deal with this daily. It's like playing a Jungler in League of Legends. Doesn't matter how good you are or aren't. You're just asking to get banned if you aren't brain dead.

Are we really talking about something that consistently drops on a weekly basis as unattainable? There is more primal weapons on any P99 server than there ever were on live.

There is a mage epic thread already started for folks that want to apply the woke mind virus to why they should be handed everything. Better yet there is a whole different project called quarm that is built around everyone holding hands and getting free items with no effort, sounds like that would be a better fit for folks that identify with this thread.
