As a side note. I coulda sworn i was beat down by Mayong at MM pond by being too curious and not running like a lil bitch. Low 20's druid.
Around april 2000. Appreciate input as to whether that timeline would work with mayong being taken out and all.

A dev commented years ago there was a lake monster in rathe, but it never made it to live. It was said to be a short lived thing during one of the phases of beta. Mayong was short lived on Live though and then removed, then iirc he was used in 1 or 2 GM events.

Well. I musta been on some good drugs cuz page 3 has a post dated dec 9 1999 said mayong was already gone.

IIRC there were some GM events (or maybe just one event) where he was in the game as an NPC, so it's possible you were in MM leveling when that happened haha

I remember Mayong rampaging through MM was a Halloween 1999 event on Tribunal.
