People being obsessive in the raid scene is classic – Everquest is about exclusion and being smug, and if you disagree then you don’t remember classic EQ very well and are also probably gay/fat

The thing is , there would still be plenty of room for that if their were weekly repops.

See, wall staring actually limits competition and smugness. Most people don't want to play "Stakeout Quest," so only a small number of people ever even get serious to begin with. This also cuts into your ability to be smug -- because most people consider it stupid anyway.

The game of EQ is Brad's masterpiece of self prophecy.

Much like his career, it starts off great. You work with friends to accomplish goals which would be impossible otherwise. There is seemingly no limit to expression of character, places to explore, or monsters to hunt (he could do anything after Eq).

Then, you get to dragon raiding. The long awaited promise (personally success for Lord Brad). But this is where everything goes wrong. Suddenly you and your elf friends are smoking crack instead of weed, and your guild(company) splits over a loot (funding) dispute. In the chaos, someone wakes the sleeper (develops addiction to cocaine) and there's no going back. You will never be a young elf with all of Norrath before you.

All that is left is a repetitive dragon race that leads to nothing except furthering your own addiction and mental illness (promising vaporware) .

Would p99 be VSoH in this analogy? Thank you for your response.
