They always will if;

1. you are soloing

2. your pet does more that 50% damage (not the DS the pet has)

And to be clear, both of those conditions must be met. In groups pets do not eat exp, ever.

Does that mean pets do not ever eat "party exp" or that simply grouping with someone (even if not in the same zone) means no stealing?
