![]() HI All -
Glorious little project you have going on here. I have been mucking around with various low level characters, trying to decide on which route I am going to take on my journey here. I really only have time to play one character seriously and am torn between what I am good at and going somewhere new. I played live EQ on the testserver primarily and my main was an untwinked Troll Warrior, that I got up to level 55 (so you know I am a sucker for punishment). I have been spoiled a bit with the TLP servers as leveling is fast and furious and the UI and gameplay (loot, etc.) is so smooth and easy. This is clouding my character making here. 1) My highest level character is an enchanter at level 33. Super fun class, good solo and group friendly, but also (by reading these forums) sounds like there are plenty of them that they are tripping over each other and that makes groups hard to find on p1999. 2) Second highest level character is a ranger at 30 - Very fun melee class, but reading the boards here are badder than bad in this era. 3) Third highest class is a Wizard (level 28) and has been the most fun to play so far - last night in basement unrest I was doing between 30% and 60% of every mobs health bar (clarity cast on me AND a clarity pot) and absolutely melting mobs. However, reading the boards here, Wizards are also useless, and shelved just to be used as porters. (Why is that? Do they not do the crazy damage they do on TLPs?) 4) Fourth Highest character is a 17 Gnome SK and super duper fun as well but of course not optimized for tanking (after reading here, should be an Ogre!). Heck, I don't even know if you can roll a gnome SK on P1999. 5) I also have a 9 Cleric and 7 Shaman as I was toying with healing classes. I am torn between a new adventure (monk or bard maybe?) or picking one of the above and having a go of it all. Either way currently playing around with an Enchanter, Bard, Wizard and Cleric and about to make a Troll SK for solo nostalgia. Eventually I will settle in on one, and until then, will gladly take all suggestions, love, and thoughts from the community. Cheers! | ||
