I'd blame a desync too if my guild wiped on a conceded VS with over 20 people.

No one is blaming desynch for a wipe because 1) it wasn't a desynch and 2) that was well before our first attempt.

I apparently trained a ranger that took it very hard. But VS was dead at that point.

Azure Guard didn't have malicious intent but got suspended.
IB tried to work it out but got suspended anyway.
