We don't change first names unless it's offensive or extreme. Then if it's either one we will throw the book at you for being a dummy.

Find a language where your name is offensive and report yourself.

I am sure EVERYONE'S name is offensive in some language. It seems like it would be statistically probable for every name given the amount of languages from african tribal to native americans to various tonal languages. I mean, Stembolt means slayer of the penis in 19th generation Sioux.

Maybe they would be a little more lenient on name changes now since you can't sell accounts for plat. Less people wanting to get rid of bad reputations from bought accounts and such.

They'll change surnames but never first names.

Not entirely true. Harrassment and stalking issues can also be grounds for a first name change. Other than that I think it is a case of catching the right GM on the right day and using the letter of the law in your favor. I once made a char and chose a common item for a name out of frustration that so many names were in use or camped at name selection screen. Always hated the name. On petitioning, the GM heard me out and agreed to my new name choice which was much more in the spirit of elfquest.

I just had a petition in-game last night about possible first name changes, but was told they are not allowed to do first names.
