We could emulate old hardware for sure as well as simulate a network of dialup and weather affecting connectivity. We could charge a fee 25cents per dialup on every connect to and subsidize the entire project without going into a legal grey area.

I remember upgrading to windows 2000 during Velious (because I actually had a job than) and having EQ break because 2000's audio drivers and directx support was flaky, till updating several drivers.
