I can only assume the OP is 12 year sold, as no one else would consider someone who makes $9,000 a year (less than 1/2 of the poverty line) and $35,000 a year (a lower middle class income) to be in the same category.. Nor $86,000 and $180,000, or would dedicate as many categories to the $200,000+ bracket.

Except taxes are progressive. The tax bracket is how much you get taxed on that part of your income, not for your whole income and is thus not representative of proper 'buckets' for total income, at all.

I'd give up trying to be defensive about it, considering all your polls are damn near unanimously panned for how shitty the brackets/ranges are.

This isn't an exercise in tax collection, it's an attempt to display the demographics of a server. Lumping 70% of the respondents into one bracket makes sense with regard to taxation, but when you're trying to show meaningful information about server pop it's just retarded. You should listen to people.

I realize that this is mostly a troll attempt, but in-case anyone else was curious as to why tax brackets were chosen (it's pretty simple to understand really) over smaller "buckets" to better parse out the "70%" (it's not that high):

The purpose of this poll is to determine where players' incomes fall with respect to the U.S. tax bracket and then later compare that to the U.S. as a whole.

I have 0 interest in knowing how many people make between 40-50k vs 50-60k a year, or the poll options would reflect that. The ones chosen were chosen for a reason. If there is confusion surrounding that then I apologize. Hopefully this post clarifies any confusion.

If you do not care for the methodology, or you wish to know more about the "70%" I suggest creating your own poll!
