Of course people will get abortions illegally if they were flat out banned. But the notion there would be *more* abortions if they were illegal and not *less* is crazy. There would obviously be less.

Drugs aren't really a fair comparison either, because people choose to do drugs. The whole issue with abortion is that you *didn't* choose to get pregnant, it was accidental. The incentive structure is totally different.

The texas law isn't banning them, it's merely asking for a little personal responsibility. And if 6 weeks is too short, make it ten, I'm down for that. But you go on tiktok and see girls *celebrating* the killing of babies, which is morbid and horrifying. They are going to have terrible, aimless lives.

Oh ya if abortion was illegal it would cut probably 95% or so of abortions

Getting pregnant is both a choice and an accident. Ideally every person has basic sex education before being sexually active, which means every person should understand the concept that unprotected (and very rarely) protected sex can result in a baby. It’s a choice to have sex and that choice is knowing a baby could result

The GOP seems to believe that if we had responsible parents raising responsible kids and a culture shift, that either all of America would wait until marriage (HAH! I guarantee you probably 50%+ of religious GOP members that say they did are fucking lying), or else wait until one is able to care for a baby before having sex. That is a fucking pipe dream in my opinion, not when you have a culture of using sex appeal to sell products and one’s self on an individual basis on social media constantly. “Just keep your legs closed”….never gonna happen in America

When I was growing up my parents told me many times “we don’t believe in abortion in this household, and we think you should wait until marriage, but if you don’t, don’t have sex including with a condom until you are prepared for the possibility of a baby”. At first I was actually hard-lined on trying to wait until marriage, which my gf in senior year respected. But I changed my mind and lost my virginity at around age 19 with a girl who was 21. Both of us were working, and I had my parents as backup to assist with child raising

So I followed my parent’s advice to the letter. Good luck getting America to do that. Good luck even getting all of America to have parents

Fetal viability (ability to survive outside the womb) occurs 22-24 weeks. You have a much stronger argument when the fetus is able to survive on its own. Up until that point, it is reliant on its mother and the mother's best interests, whatever she deems them to be, come first as far as I'm concerned.
