Lot of people play games, most don't throw tantrums when they lose. That being said I think being totally uncaring would be weird as heck on a game like eq where you have to build up your toon and pvp isn't constant. Mostly when people say stuff like that it means they are probably the most beta of all, so immersed themselves (in completely the wrong way to) they can not fathom how anyone could be cool about stuff.
As someone from one of the most brutal servers ever (sz) its surprising looking back that the mantra of the top level hate was "its just a game", and people got made fun of for taking it to seriously on a regular basis. I think its great to try and play as well as you can-but be a sport, that might be the real problem here, is that there is a lack of sportsmanship. Some games people end each match with "gg" or "good game", and you still see that on p99 but eh some just never got taught to be a good sport about video games. I don't care what type of game it is if you cry every time you lose your going to look like an idiot, doubly so if your crying to the person who just killed or beat you in some way
