For the record when I have evidence I always provide punishment. You just don't hear about it because player punishment (or lack thereof) is always between the player and the staff member involved and therefore I am unable to comment or share details about it so you don't always hear about it.
In my opinion, you should go the Strannix route from "Under Siege", the apex of Steven Seagal's movie career:

"Let this be a learning experience, gentleman. If you resist we will kill you and the man next to you. Now move out of here in an orderly fashion."

If you directly see someone break server rules, suspend him and the innocent guildmate next to him. Let peer pressure work the rest of the issues out. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The staff has the ultimate leverage... people's time and effort on this server can be erased forever with a few keystrokes. That should be enough deterrent to keep everyone in line -- but somehow it isn't, which tells me there isn't enough of it going around.

Player punishment (or lack thereof) is a private matter between the staff member and individual player. SO i can't comment on that.
Also, just a personal opinion, but I have a very strong feeling that this policy sort of contributes to the "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" environment. If people knew exactly who was suspended/banned and what for, then that sends a clear message to everyone else on the server that a) things are being handled fairly and consistently, and b) they better not fucking do what that guy just did. Plus, knowing who the bad guys are allows the rest of us and their own guildmates to distance themselves from them.

I'm sure there's some downside to making this more public, but ideally it would send a clear enough message that rules-breaking would become very rare out of fear of getting shamed and knowing very clearly where the line in the sand is drawn.

Not that anyone cares, but even while Tortue/Bigburnas from TMO was training the shit out of IB and VD last night (can he log in for the next week? just curious if we're walking the walk or just talking the talk here),
Tortue isn't banned because training VD retards is not a punishable offence.

It's in the server rules somewhere.

After reading yendor's post about helping tmo, you're still talking shit? Are fucking serious? Do you tell your mom "fuck you! You didn't mix my baby formula with Fiji water! You used tap!" growing up or something?

You and your r&f tmo buddies are the worst offenders of everything that's going wrong with this server.

It's fucking ridiculous to insinuate Steven Seagal's movie career ever apexed.

^ This shit is why everyone hates dealing with the raiding guild drama. You're all fucking each other over at every turn. Yet despite the frequency with which they occur, you inevitably expect the latest to qualify as some travesty of major significance. And when one comes up you act like a nagging wife who brings up every wrong that has ever been done to you.

The P99 staff are a bunch of babysitters who don't get paid

Kind of a shame.

If suspensions/bans were handed out liberally (yet fairly and consistently) when this shit comes up (like you did), people would eventually stop doing it out of fear of having their time/effort they've invested in their precious pixels being swept away.

Instead, it ends up in a downward spiral, no guild wanting to be a doormat for another guild that is willing to stoop lower because they perceive they can get away with it.

Suspend rules-violators and an innocent guildmate of theirs each and every time. Peer pressure will sort it out.

Also i'm pretty sure when you take an initial DT, no one else will be on that hate list. The mob immediately goes into seek mode and his hate list is empty. Unless you have 2-3 people tagging in some miracle where a mob doesn't DT the exact same time it get's aggro'd by the 1st person, otherwise the very next 2 people would be the only ones on the new hate list.

Inny never reset after I was DT'd, Perun jav'd right after. I got to watch with the hover after death.

So by this you mean it's perfectly fine to snake "FTEs" after another guild has taken the DT? cool.

The first engagement is over after you drop off the hate list because you died from the DT and you were the only one on the hate list. Just like if everyone in TMO was on the hate list, you all wiped so none of you are on its hate list, and Inny is still up... the engagement is over.

Someone's got to bleed off the DT so that a guild can get FTE by the subsequent tagging. Where was your tagger that it took him 9 seconds to tag? Run a tagger in with the DT taker.

No one knows more about taking DTs than a ranger.
