I can only assume that video he made of himself leaving Nihilum so long ago considered as a masterpiece is a joke. Either that or he genuinely must feel proud, But I very much doubt he left over the possibility of exploits or anything like that. I wasn't around back then but I am sure someone knows another reason why he left.
