What absolute twaddle. If you join a group, it's not your responsibility to specifically demand to know how the loot rights are going to be in the group. It's assumed to be rolls unless stated otherwise. Nobody assumes otherwise except thieves.

The standard loot system is assuredly not NBG, its greed rolls. If an item drops, everyone rolls whether they can use it or not.

But that terminology is backwards because FR (Free roll / everyone rolls) is actually NBG. Greed is when you don't let anyone else roll because only you can equip it while in reality everyone can use. I'm still kinda mad that I passed on a braided cinch cord (500p item that I could also use on an alt) in a partial guild group because someone invoked "NBG" and I didn't stand up for what was right because I didn't want to deal with the ignorant backlash. And that doesn't mean i'm never generous. I've given a Ghoulbane away before, but I still like to have a chance at getting loot I deserve to roll on.

As an aside, I haven't been in any group that doesn't by default operate by NBG within the past year, but either way as I mentioned above the point in this scenario is the same regardless.
