When/Where did you play?

I started playing just after the release of Velious. I remember having a hard time choosing whether or not I should just buy Velious off the bat or not. I ended up putting it back on the shelf, only to run out and buy it in a few days due to the UI changes.

My first character was a dwarf paladin named Holgrad on the Prexus server. I played him to level 51. Quested and RP'd with him a lot. I needed a change of pace and my brother and I talked my dad into starting a new character. We wanted him to have the feel of being a newbie, so we decided to roll on a completely different server so that way we were all forced to start over and the possibility of twinking wasn't available.

So, about 4-5 months after Luclin launch... me, my dad, and my bro all rolled gnomes on Drinal. Enchanter (me), cleric (dad, Ernee Tinkerton) and warrior (bro, Valdrok Tinkerton). I faintly recall first rolling a cleric and leveling to 5 but ended up rerolling as the chanter.

It was great having the 'holy trinity' ready and waiting at a moments notice. We only really played on Tuesdays as it was the only night we could all get together, but we made the most of the time we spent online. I experienced so much more with my dad and bro than I ever did with my paladin because played together, and stuck to dungeon leveling. I know it's a little corny but we called ourselve the "Gnome Squad" and we all shared the same last name of Tinkerton. Some of the best times were had in Mistmoore, Unrest, SolA, Guk and even ToFS. Infact we spent close to 15 levels in ToFS alone. I also recall getting close close to 3 levels in 1 night (4-5 hours) in SolA. Infact I think my bro did get 3 levels, he always did level quicker since he was the warrior. I could go on and on and on about all the good times we had & the great people we met along the way.

Then PoP came out (I think we were in our mid 50's at this time), things started to get shitty. GoD came out and things got even shittier, then we all left for WoW... which is shitty now.

Over the years i've logged thousands of hours and killed millions of mobs. I destroyed my highschool and college gpa and countless relationships thanks to my eq addiction, but i've also met hundreds of (virtual) friends and had some totally amazing adventures. I'd be surprised if there's anyone here who i haven't ran across at least briefly at some point.

This is true. Ive met you on mayong a few months back on my ranger Erasong. I was in the guild i cant even remember the name of before mortal terror branched off. You and I hung out a bit in crypt of decay. coolstory bro!

I played Sirelk human ranger on The Rathe from March 1999 till middle of 2000, then sold that account.

Also had a 2nd account I powerleveled cleric to 40 and a wiz to 50 in late 1999 (sold that on ebay for $1200 in Jan 2000).

Quit game then came back to The Rathe as Bilj iksar SK in 2000 and sold him in December 2001 (got him to 56, but didnt finish off the greenmist epic weapon iksar sk quest with only a few steps to complete).

I'm currently ogre sk Sirduh in game. Having a blast!

I played on Prexus in 2002/2003 (i think)

my first character was a ranger named Feldorn. played him off and on, up to 26. last couple levels were soloing beasts on LOIO.

many alts that would get leveled to 7-8 then deleted to get the name on a different alt after i decided i didn't like the character for some reason.

also played an iksar monk named Mortumen. got him to 31.

also had a necro and rogue in low teens.

I was completely newbie and really had no idea how to play for the entire time i was there. with the amount of time that i played, i'm not sure how i could level so little. even paludal wasn't fast for me [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
