This is debatable. True they still had hair at this point, but hair alone does not define metal or White Lion would RULE BRO.

While I like many of the songs on the black album, I would posit that it was a huge departure from their earlier work, and rather than marking the end of an era of greatness, it marked the beginning of an era of horseshit.

IMHO, ..And Justice For All was the last real Metallica album.

valid point, never really thought about it like that.

justice is my favorite album by far
