when you log back in, is anything on your cursor? you can't loot an item from a corpse if there is something on your cursor, and there are a few ways to get a ghost item to appear on your cursor.
One way that I know of is to eat/drink really fast, and you'll usually get the last one that you eat/drink to be stuck on your cursor until you log out/in. | ||
