No, I was making a ridiculous argument to point out the fact that depending on how you spin it, you can call anyone a thief. Who did Slydexx steal the eye from? BDA? Ok then, what is BDA? Is it the current members? What if everyone but 1 person left BDA, would that one person now be the sole owner of the entire guild bank? Say you held an item for such a long time that every person who was actually on the raid had left for other guilds, does the ownership of those items now transfer to people who may not have even been members when the items were obtained?

You guys ascribed ambiguous ownership criteria to items and are now trying to call someone a thief for questing an item that he had just as much a right to as any other single member present on that raid. I'd personally consider that pretty ignorant.

You have zero understanding of a "guildbank". Every player on that raid does have a right to the item, sadly 1 person took that right away from everyone else, that's called being greedy. I agree with you, your opinion is ignorant.

No, I have a very sound understanding of how a guild bank works, I just think issues like this are exactly why the concept of a "guild bank" doesn't really work at all. When you don't ascribe ownership to items and instead give ownership to a conceptual entity such as a guild you run into issues like this. Look at what happened to other guild banks when guilds have quit the server. How many IB members do you think got their fair share of the IB guild bank? I'm not defending what Slydexx did, but I do think it is ridiculous how some of you are shitting on him for taking an item that he and many current FE members likely partook in attaining, especially considering you have two more of them sitting in bank and haven't even attempted to kill CT in months.

All I'm saying is this isn't a black and white theft if you think about the ambiguous nature of guilds as a whole owning items.

And yet you completely ignore Jarn's post. Sly was plenty geared without stealing items from the guild bank.

@Max He did deserve the loot Jarn mentions, BDA is not disputing that. But the eye was never his, it was never awarded to him on a permanent basis. Yet his lone decision makes it permanent.

not every guild that disbands or goes kaput does shady shit like IB

seriously tho, are you new to eq? or to being in a guild? i cant speak for other guilds but in BDA we work for the betterment of BDA, when items are awarded to participants they are usually given to the person that has A. put in the work to deserve a reward and B. will be the most likely to use said item to make BDA a stronger entity

keep in mind im not on the loot council or an officer but ive been around for long enough to see how they work, the only people you will hear bitching about the way BDA distributes loot are the people who's greed got passed over for another's need and are most likely no longer in the guild anyways

What he said. Also, when VD split we all met in freeport and randomed off the guild bank. I think this cs634214 guy just likes to see responses to his moronic posts.

BDA - The guild who does loot so fairly that the bulk of their hard core raiders left to join FE. Gotcha.

Seriously, the #1 complaint I've heard from just about every past BDA member I've spoken to has been favoritism in awarding loot. You must have been one of the favorites.

Loot Council is always going to have a twinge of favoritism, there's not much that can be done about that. However, you stated BDA and hardcore raiders in the same sentence. BDA was never a hardcore raid guild, and as history indicates, didn't do so hot when it was shoe-horned into the roll. So obviously the hardcore raiders went to a new home. Things work best when a spade is called a spade.
