It's not an insult at all, why would it be?

He asked what those languages were so I explained him.

There is nothing wrong with not speaking a language pal. He just likes to bash France, yet doesn't speak French or knows anything about us.

I would never bash the US, even though I'm very interested in your history as well as your language that I've learned over time.
