Some advice Fuji.. don't get caught up with trying to get gear, the stats are practically wothless until higher levels. Save enough plat to buy your spells and that's all you should worry about until you're level 30+. Group up instead of soloing, it's much better exp in my experience even with Necros.
Oh and level in EC/Oasis/whatever so you can get buffs easily from high levels. On my druid I would bind at camp, port to WC and run to EC tunnel, get clarity, gate back and blow stuff up and do it over again. Makes a huge difference. Other casters could do the same thing even if you're just leveling in Oasis and run back to EC and gate.
