The first instanced zones were from LDoN. The worst expac this game has ever seen, and ironically it started a trend. I personally hate instances, they ruin half the competition. The ones that complain are typically the ones that got everything nerfed in WoW anyways. You know why? because they weren't good enough to do it or couldn't handle farming resists, or pots back when Rag was an actual challenge.

Except plane of time, which of course happened two (though you could argue for one--not many potime guilds pre loy) which was instanced as a motherfucker. 100 man PoEB raids turned into 54? man PoTimea PoTimeb raids? awesome.

Originally PoTime wasn't instanced. There were rotations for it (at least on my server), and the raid part of it wasn't instanced until after LDoN.

You are telling me people actually sit at their computers spamming some kind of key for hours on end hoping to get the first hit on a mob? How does that keep other people from doing more damage and just kill stealing it or is that what happens.
