What Splorf said.

I should pull a Splorf and make a useful guide to answer all of the typical questions we see on the forums. The proc rate one comes up pretty often, and every time, I end up searching for the thread where a dev explains it (http://www.project1999.org/forums/sh...&postcount=144). Lol.

You'd have to make HUGE hp/ac/stam (I'm assuming you're a warrior) sacrifices to boost your dex from 120-140 up to 200+. Plus you only need like 170-180 dex to hit the cap with shaman (and potentially enchanter and bard) buffs.
Thanks for info! Actually it's a Shaman =).

I am not a big fan of Proc weapons at all. As you can see in the Link you go from MAYBE 1 proc to 1.5 Procs in a typical high end fight time frame by doubling you Dex. A pretty sad trade off for Str, Sta, HP stats I think. Look at how many times you have to try and get the Workers Sledge Mallet to proc at times..

I don't think any warrior is a "fan" of proc weapons. Simply put however is that there isn't a sufficient trade off to not rely on proc weapons especially at higher levels. That is why you see every non epic warrior with a sarnak hammer/whip. We simply do not maintain the dps to keep hate vs. other classes abilities. One could argue otherwise with V.P. ratios etc. but, given the availability of weapons and our abilities we do not have burst abilities with any sort of decent cool down to maintain aggro with pure dps. Most warriors are slaves to their dex stat, and ability to proc. Whether or not that stat is important vs. the ability to take hits is irrelevant. You must possess the abillity to maintain the hits first and foremost. Unless you are a "high end" warrior, dex is one of the most important stats, period.

This view however is only a problem with multiple mobs. Single boss tanking is one of the more trivial aspects of tanking in this era given the availability of midnight mallet, puppet strings, slow crystal, root webs, etc.
