Sorry...I had to say it. With that said, I'm fairly certain that is unintended. If I remember correctly the 10 dose potions were a no fail combine. If you don't care to help by doing some research? I'll dig around in the DB and see what I can see and how many of those combines are setup that way.

This happened again last night with the same potion combine. This is truly an expensive way to lvl up alchemy when you can't even sell your stuff because it gets eaten. Twice now ... can you please look into getting this fixed.
