Also I hated how Martin would introduce a character in chapter x, and you wouldn't see that character again until chapter x+17. And even then it was just to have that character fucking die. WTf is that!?

I guess that's a way to handle having so many simultaneous parallel storylines. On the other hand I swear the author has ADD because he starts up SOOO many extra story threads without concluding the ones he has. Then every now and then instead of tying them up he'll just hack them off and eliminate the whole point.
