Once you get an enchanter to Level 12, enchanter/cleric goes from strength to strength... get the enchanter's charisma to 200+ and charm a pet, get the cleric to buff and keep it healed - add two rusty weapons (keep a bag full)... and you'll rocket up the levels.
I say cleric because the EQ ladies love to heal, it seems.
If "girlfriend" was code for boxing - then a lot of combos seem to opt for a shaman healer...SK or warrior/shaman I'd say, and don't get caught
