There are many cases where the server allows skills to go higher than they did in classic (later expacs upping skill caps, for example). This means that on the server, your skill will go up to whatever it thinks it should go up to. However, the client is ratcheting it back down to what it's cap was in live.

As a monk, I see this in Hand-to-hand and throwing. Throwing caps at 113 in classic for monks. How they got at that number, I'll never know. So I see skill-ups past 113, but I'm actually still only as effective as 113. Hand-to-hand has a higher-per-level cap now in live I guess, but the client brings it back down.

yes but at level 23, my cap should not ever be 75 for archery
it was at 97 like a week ago
now its 75, in red
do you get this with your monk?? (the skill being shown in red, acting like something is decreasing your skill)
because just about all my other skills are just at around 115, which is lvl 22 cap.
my archery has not increased since its been showed in red :[
was the classic archery cap at 75? i honestly am sure it was not
