Britain's military during its empire for much of history is unmatched, particularly on the water. Yeah sure, it couldn't hold onto its American colonies during the American Revolution but it was won until the French turned up.

France, after Napoleon are just a footnote - always in the shadows of others (British, Germans, Americans, Chinese, etc). Well many travel from the Middle East to Europe - not as many make it as far as Britain. France (unfortunately for them) has a far more significant problem with them. The Euro Tunnel in a way is the worst thing we ever built.

They might stay in Greece to save the journey but what's really worth staying there for at the moment?

Your biggest problem is viewing patriotism as a negative thing, England is so ashamed of its past that its seen as a bad thing to try and preserve your culture. Hence, you will all be bowing to mecca in the next few decades.
