I haven't said anything 'needs' to be done about the atmosphere on this forum; but is there really anything wrong with hoping to be in a friendlier, more relaxed enviroment (in regards to attitudes rather than rules)?

We can pick and choose what we read, but only in so far as the title of the topic goes, because ranting and flaming is not limited to the Rants & Flames forum - this is the crux of my point. So basically, if someone doesn't want to read hateful garbage, they should choose not to read anything on these forums? Yeah, ok, I'm exagerating a little, but my point stands; there is little to no respect shown by some people to other posters in all the subforums.

And yes, I imagine the devs and GMs have what many would consider more important work to be getting on with, but I am certain there are more than a few resonable people out there who would be willing to help with moderating the forums to make it a more inviting place for players new and old alike.

I think you people are whining for nothing, im not denying theres some mild trolling here and there, but go check the server chat right now, its full of people giving tips for quests, class tips, talking about a ghost boat in a GM event. Go check it and come back, i mean... come on.

This.^

Even just check the main server chat forum. Longest thread on the front page right now is people thanking others for things... I mean come on! Maybe it gets worse at 50 or something, but leveling up has been 1000x more positive here than it ever was back in '99-'01.
