Cop's today taze first and ask questions later. I can link countless articles where cops have tazed the blind, pregnant women, elderly people, the mentally handicapped etc etc.
When it wasn't warranted? Please do link.

And then please compare these "countless" incidents with the number of times these things don't happen, and then when we have things in perspective we can decide who is being sensationalist and who is being realistic.

They've become extremly lazy and taze people who could easily be restrained all the time.
"All the time" is that sensationalist propoganda shit again.

Yeah, cops sometimes make the wrong choice. And since there are a lot of fucking cops who need to make a lot of fucking choices, the absolute number seems big.

How do you want to fix this? Do you want to pay more taxes so that cops have to go through a more intensive screening program so none of the "power hungry" sorts end up in uniform? Do you want to pay more taxes so that cops get more training?

You've been drinking the Kool-aid. Try blaming the politicians and media that have set the stage for our current "war on drugs" which is little more then an excuse to keep young black men incarcerated and keep white people afraid of minorities. And before you right wing assholes deny this fact just look at the sentencing guidlines for crack as compared to coke. It's obvious to anyone and everyone that alcohol prohibition was a massive failure and bad policy so why can't people see theres little or no difference with our currrent drug policy?
The war on drugs has some issues for sure. Big issues. But it isn't like prohibition any more a war on gang violence is like a war on Grand Theft Auto games.

Do you really think the country would be a better place to live, overall, if there was not a single law attempting to control the use of what are currently controlled substances?

Yes. Drugs are legal in the Netherlands and they experience lower rates of use and abuse of all drugs than in the US. Education and treatment are far more effective at limiting drug use and having responsible drug use. Abolition and jail only exacerbate the problem. Even if the costs of enforcement and incarceration were 0, education and treatment would be more effective as they have a better chance at reducing irresponsible drug use. Instead we're spending tens (hundreds?) of billions on the war on drugs every single year.

For another example, check out the story of Portugal, where every drug was decriminalized in 2001. Not only did use decline, but deaths due to drugs (overdoses and HIV) were cut in half.

Nice analogy between gangs and GTA. So alcohol is a simulation of an actual drug like GTA is a simulation of actual crime? You do realize alcohol is a real thing, and not just something Dwarves drink for fun? Alcohol is far more dangerous to the user and people around him than many illegal drugs.
