If you are a monk then you are obviously Human or Iksar. Why don't you just reroll and start the monk in Qeynos. You are only level 5. Don't humans have the option to start at either Freeport or Qeynos?
I've thought about it, but someone has given me a Wu's Quivering Staff and some plat, and I don't really have a way of transferring that over :P

This is your best bet. I would say run it if you were higher, but the mobs in Highkeep, and the undead/gnolls that guard the zone entrance to SK in Rake Rathetear may cause a problem.

The firepots are awesome, but if you have no swimming skill that will probably take longer than any of the other routes.

Oh I agree that going through HighKeep is the path I would probably take as well. But I have generally had to recruit help from a higher level to get through. Sometimes I was lucky and someone was already camping orcs and gnolls and breezed through.

But you get the added benefit of maxing out swimming, might come in handy in blackburrow anyhow.

1-15 is going to be miserable anywhere you go. Just tough it out until you reach oasis. From there on you can just group.
