So as long as I have 75 Agility on my Shadowknight I shouldn't be taking the penalty is what it sounds like.
The one thing that had me curious was on my Bard who has over 75 AGI (He has 78) I would notice his AC drop when I was overencumbered and dropped below the 75AC mark, but on my SK when my AC dropped under 75 I noticed no such penalty. It made me assume that the penalty was already in place, and thus over 75 Agility was the safe point.

Revisiting an old topic here, if someone could answer my question I would appreciate it.
I made an Ogre shaman and did not know about this minimum 75agi or receive avoidance penalty which negatively impacts total AC value. Is this 75agi value only counting from your natural agi stat, that is without any buffs or stat benefits from armor? If that is the case I regret not putting 5 stat points into AGI from the start as i think the AC value is very important to the shaman, solo or in group. I am lvl 40 now so i will not reroll, however the min-maxer in me is curious about it.

Thanks for quick reply confirming it is TOTAL AGILITY that counts towards the 75AGI threshold.
As for shaman should not get hit. I think some people play shaman trying to max wis and making sure not to get hit, however it is rather risky as when slowing in a group or raid setting getting aggro is a real issue. Personally I like to get up close and personal with mobs and relish the opportunity to offtank in groups when mezz fails etc. Perhaps this is not the "optimal" way to play, but i sure enjoy it [You must be logged in to view images. On second thought, may i ask for confirmation from some others as well please.
http://gaming.wikia.com/wiki/Shaman_%28EQ%29 "Players starting new Ogre characters should consider putting 5 starting points into Agility to avoid the AC penalty for characters under 75agi. " Now why would it say that if it was the TOTAL AGI that counted and not the natural, naked AGI? Seems to me it is most probable it is the natural, naked AGI that counts toward the 75AGI limit for not getting the avoidance penalty. I hope I am wrong tho as it would bother me thinking about my glorious offtanking capabilities to be slightly diminished, lol.

5 str used from initial points don`t let you carry more weight than 5 str from a buff. 5 wis from initial points don`t give you more mana than 5 wis from an item. The reason they mention considering putting 5 starting points in agility as an ogre is so you don`t have to go out of your way to get gear with agility to get over the 75 threshhold instead of whatever you`d like to add normally. cheers

Thanks for the support guys, shaman can tank!
I got 750AC at lvl 40 which means i can take as much beating as the tank next to me, well, errr, maybe for not as long, but still. Seriously, I am very curious about this. I remember reading a post from a number cruncher here on the forums using some statistical words i have long forgotten. You want to chime in please here regarding the 75AGI limit if it's the naked AGI amount that counts [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
