I know when I was younger I fell in once, went to drop a deuce and the seat was up. Oh noes! Did I rant and scream at someone? Noooo, I learned to pay attention and make sure the seat was in the position I needed it to be in.

You know what's REALY funny, though? I always have to get onto my GF for putting the LID down after SHE goes. She ALWAYS leaves the lid up and if the seat is down, one of my cats will drink from the toilet if it's open.
