Well, I guess they continued making ancients in luclin, but they were around in velious too.

That post at the bottom was made like 9 months after SoL was released. I know that SoE went back and added some spells from some expansions to other mobs in different expansions of equivalent difficulty. IE:

It may be possible some Ancients were added prior to SoL but I don't recall it being that way.

Are you sure ancient wasnt on vulak to begin with?

He wasnt exactly that easy to slay, if not the hardest encounter in velious? Ive never been on a raid that slayed him. Even luclin era my guild never even tried.

Im not sure if any of the other mobs in velious had that. Pretty sure it was only vulak that carried ancients.

Ancients were added to Vulak when they made Vulak a ring event, iirc.

Vulak was not that hard really. You might be thinking of the SoL era Vulak they turned it into a ring event and his encounter was bugged (impossible) for a long time. The larger challenge in NTOV was Lord Vyemm if I remember correctly, then Vulak was free uber loot.

The hardest encounter in Velious was Avatar of War by far (not counting Sleeper who was never meant to be killed). After that it's up in the air, you got Tunare, Statue of RZ, Lord Yelinak, Lord Vyemm, etc.

Oh yeah youre right. I wasnt uber in those days, but i was a reader of the legacy of steel webpage. I do remember an update saying vulak was indeed a bitch, and i think the quote was "the real mac daddy of ntov is that cack sugger vymm" lol

That sucks. I allways thought vulak dropped the ancients.

Yes the 60 ancients are Luclin. They were all added later to Vulak etc due to mob difficulty. Which was a good idea imo.

Also the Luclin stuff was mocking sarcasm for those that didn't catch it :P

1: ancients spells are velious related.
2: they where buged in the script supsoed to drop only from vulak but loot table was messed up and some times they droped like aryonar .
3: they were fairly very rare drops of vulak pre ring and would take the spot of a normal drop .
4: su`posed fixed when they replaced vulak with a ring than didint quite work for long time.
5: luclin comes out and it begin to drop again , u can notice ancients being inferior in many cases to the luclin new spells. ancients become very easy to get for high end targets who farmed seru vt.

http://www.eqclerics.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5926

Take note about why vulak was removed, outside massive hit points he was by far one of the easiest dragons in whole tov . and every damm drop of him was worth.

another e xample is primal avatar spell droped in sleeper .

Aswell u gotta remember the uprorar around luclin age than lead to the mass introduction of new spells / and fopcus items due to casters claim about the `poor developemtn of the class.

Yes rigth those stupids spells become uber when someone got a focus item.
