Spell Prices too damn high!

Just so we know what we are talking about, I logged my druid and looked for more info. Most of the spells I mentioned as druid level 9 were specific to druid and/or ranger, and in all those cases druid had lowest req'd lev of 9 (e.g. Ignite Rng(22) Dru(9)) costs 5p2g.
So, we have Levitate Rng(39) Dru(14) Shm(14) Wiz(24) Enc(24) - cost is 4p2g.
Then, SoW Rng(39) Dru(14) Shm(9) - cost is 5p2g.
Also, Invigor Clr(9) Pal(22) Rng(30) Dru(14) Shm(24) Enc(24) - cost is 4p2g.
If Messianic were correct, one would still expect that a L14 spell like Levitate would cost more than a L9 spell like SoW, wouldn't one? Or that two L9 spells like Invigor and SoW would cost the same? Not so!

Finally, I don't care at this point for my char, but though I remember high costs when I played circa 1999, I am sure I did not pay those prices for L9 spells. Sure you can say someone should get "decent plat" from 5-9, but I would like to know where one can get the 40p or so required with an untwinked newby at those levs.

I said generally - and Levitate isn't a single-class only spell, it's a generic spell. What do your druid/ranger only level 14 spells cost compared to your level 9 druid/ranger only spells?

I've heard "I am absolutely certain" about a million different things in everquest on these forums - and most of the time the person is dead wrong. Your memory of a 12-13 year old game isn't as good as you think it is.

I'm not saying all the prices are classic, i'm just saying individual memories are more often wrong than the server is.

You haven't made that point. You've only pointed out generic, multi-class spells which isnt the same comparison as, for example, Stinging Swarm vs Ignite.
