Interesting - maybe nodrop items can be traded? Take a look and see if the coin says it is nodrop - I would be interested.
As far as the LOIO search goes, you need to kill the real low level stuff that is north of the windmill (if you have not already gotten the courier). Sarnak flunkies, real low lev gobs, sabertooth kits or cubs, etc. Got the courier to spawn in less than 30 min that way when I was working on it.
From what I gathered of Talon, he actually had an extra hand, which was - in part - the reason for his reputation.
