Back on live, my girlfriend wanted to play a wizard and I convinced her to play a monk instead. One morning I woke up and she was in tears because she was trying to pull something hard and her group was giving her a bunch of shit. She never played again. Huge mistake on my part.
I'd let her play the enchanter. Don't make a big deal out of it if either of you die. If you have to CR both of you, do it. Have fun with her when she wants to play--don't expect her to min/max like a vet. If she wants to put up a shitty pet and cast nukes and fear, so be it.
That's my take.
